Love is in the air at Orchard Hill!

2023 Valentine’s Celebration

Valentine’s Day is a pleasant, easy holiday... not meant for crowds. It’s made for two people who care for one another. There should be no hypertension involved here; a box of chocolates, flowers, a really great book, or a well-planned dinner. Either your place or a special place out, I guess like Orchard Hill.

Like most things, Darrell and I don’t make a big deal out of holidays. But we always exchange a ‘meaningful’ card, and that is not always easy. The card manufacturers are either too gooey-gushy or just downright silly...the words we would actually say rarely appear.

A few years back though Darrell gave me a card that, after reading a second time through, really touched me. Now people may not realize this, but I’m a very practical woman. And this was ‘the’ perfect card. I knew I would always compare it with those that came after it.

I asked Darrell if he meant what was written in the verse. His response: “I would not have given it to you if I didn’t.” So I told him “well, if you feel this way next year, simply re-date the card and give it to me again. Or you can modify some portion of it.” Nothing more was really said. The following year I received that lovely card again and I’ve received it for five or six years hence.

P.S.
Darrell will tell you what was written in the card, next year.
